Car Meet-Ups Being Shut Down:

Car meetups and drive around have been getting shut down left and right. Simply because people have loud cars or there is a big group of cars driving around it is seen as something not allowed or a worry that they are doing something illegal. This hurts the car photography scene because these are some of the best times to take photos and it is often times ruined or shut down by police. Most car shows now are done in the public parking lot with small group meet-ups.

Being pulled over for being in a car group?

People all around are now being pulled over because their cars look the exact same as the ones that are in car groups that the police are looking for. Car groups doing donuts in intersections and running from the police is becoming something we are seeing very often. This is making it harder and harder for the car scene to be trusted. People might be pulled over and questioned simply by the looks of their car now to make sure it is not one in a car group.

In order for the car scene to become trusted and the car photography scene to continue a relationship must be built with law enforcement. Becoming trusted as a community will allow for those car ride-alongs and meets to be allowed more often and law enforcement not seeing an issue with it because the community can become trusted. Showing respect to the community and showing that the car scene can be trusted will allow for many new opportunities in the car scene. Showing that local car groups mean no harm and by not doing things like closing down intersections it is possible that car meets could potentially not get shut down. The main thing that needs to happen is that the car scene needs to be recognized as a community that is very respectful and only wants to have a good time with each other without breaking any laws.
